How to Make a Spring Wall Hanging using Cricut

It is spring so I thought that I would design this terrific Spring wall hanging using Cricut. This is a colorful and fun Cricut crafting project that makes for perfect home decor during this spring season. Full of colorful blooms, butterflies and hearts, this paper craft is a joy to put together. It comes with a free SVG that you can resize to the size that you want. Keep in mind that your maximum width is 11 1/2″. I made mine to fit in a frame that measures 12″ x 6″. If you would like more Cricut crafting projects head over to my Cricut page.

What you will Need: How to Make a Spring Wall Hanging using Cricut

Step 1: Download the SVG

Click on the link and download the SVG onto your computer.

Step 2: Upload the SVG

Open Design Space and click upload on the left menu bar. Click upload image and then browse. Choose Spring SVG and click upload. Then click place on canvas. Size the SVG to the size of your Frame. You can ungroup the pieces if you need to resize the back piece of paper.

Step 3: Make It

Click Make It in the top right corner. Choose on Mat to cut the pieces. You will be using the blue mat for this project. I always use a brayer to make sure my paper is secure on the mat. Design Space will walk you through the steps to cut out the individual pieces.

Step 4: Put it Together

Cut a piece o background card stock that fits your frame. I cut a piece of white card stock that measured 12″ x 6″. Once you have done that you can start layering the pieces.

  • Glue the Dark Green SPRING centered on your background paper
  • Place the lighter green letters on top using the foam dots. You will have to cut some of them down
  • Using the ram dots place the dark flower pieces onto the letters as shown
  • Also using the foam dots place the lighter flower pieces on top of the darker ones
  • Add the butterflies using the foam dots
  • Finally, cut the foam dots in half and add the hearts

Step 4: Frame It

Place the glass in the frame then the layered spring design and then the backing. Close up the frame and you have finished your spring wall hanging using Cricut.
