How to Make a Christmas Ornament Gift Box using Cricut
Every year I like to get and give a unique Christmas ornament and thought this Christmas ornament gift box was the perfect accompaniment. This is a super simple beginner Cricut paper craft with free SVG. Just download the SVG, add it to Design Space and cut it out. What you will Need: How to Make a Christmas Ornament Gift Box using Cricut
- SVG you can get by clicking on this link
- Main body cardstock for body and insert
- Dark green cardstock for the leaves
- Red cardstock for the berries
- Glue — I use Bearly Art
- Cricut or other cutting machine
- Cricut Tools
- Cricut Mat
Step 1: Download the SVG
If you are unfamiliar with how to download and upload your SVG checkout this video for step-by-step instructions.
Step 2: Ungroup
Highlight everything and click ungroup.
Step 3: Highlight and Click Score
Highlight all of the dashed lines and chose score in the operations menu.
Step 4: Attach the Score Lines
Highlight the score lines and the body of the box and click attach.
Step 5 Make It
Click make and choose “On Mat”
Step 6: Cut
Step 7: Cut out all of the Pieces
Add the Dark Green
Using your Bearly Art glue attach the dark green squares to the back of the main body pieces matching the holes.
Step 9: Glue the Red
Using your Bearly Art glue attach the red squares to the back of the main body pieces matching the holes.
Step 10: Add the Red Circle and Bows
Again, using your Bearly Art attach the red circle to the front pieces of the main body. Once the circles have been added, attach the bows.
Step 11: Glue the Body Together
Fold over the tabs. Using the tabs and the glue attach the body pieces together to form a box shape.
Step 12: Fold the Bottom
Fold under the bottom pieces to form a firm bottom.
Step 13: Fold the Tabs of the Insert
Step 14: Glue the Holder
Step 15: Add the Insert
Step 16: Attach the Ribbon
Place an ornament inside and add the ribbon to close.
