How to Make a Simple Father’s Day Card using Cricut

It is time to take your Cricut card making skills out and create this super simple Father’s Day card for your dad this year. This card allows you to write your own sentiment inside using your Cricut as well. This is a beginner Cricut card making project that anyone with a Cricut or other cutting machine can make. What you will Need: How to Make a Simple Father’s Day Card using Cricut

Step 1: Download the SVG

Download the SVG to your computer by clicking on the link.

Step 2: Upload the SVG

Upload the SVG to Design Space by clicking on the upload button in the left menu of Design Space. Follow the instructions to upload the SVG and then place it on the canvas. If you would like this card to fit into a standard 5″x7″ envelope you should resize the card so that the center dimensions fit those measurements. I have added an SVG for as standard 5′ x 7″ envelope for you if you want to resize your card.

Step 3: Convert the Cut Lines to Score Lines

There are two lines in the blue part of the card. Highlight them and go to the operation menu and click score. Once you have clicked score, click attach at the bottom of the layers panel.

Step 4: Type your Sentiment

On the yellow rectangle type your sentiment by clicking on the text tool on the left menu. Choose your font by highlighting the text and clicking on the dropdown menu and choosing one of the available fonts. You can chose either a Cricut font or a system font. Once you have selected your font and typed your sentiment highlight the sentiment and go the operations dropdown menu and click pen so that Cricut knows to write the sentiment. Then click attach.

Step 5: Make It

Click Make It in the upper right corner of Design Space. Follow the instructions to cut out you pieces.

Step 6: Put it Together

Using your glue. Glue the yellow sentiment insert into the center of the blue card. Glue the #1 Dad letters onto the red circle. Fold the sides of the blue card to the center so that they cover the sentiment. Use double sided tape to add the red circle to close the blue card.

Step 7: Create the Envelope

I have added an envelope SVG to this project if you would like to use it. Remember to turn the interior lines of the card to score lines and attach them the same way you did for the card. Fold the score lines and glue or use double sided tape. Insert the card and send it on it’s way.
