How to Make a Dollar Tree Permanent Vinyl Planter using Cricut

I love my new Cricut and I love Dollar Tree Crafts so I decided to put them together to make this Dollar Tree Permanent Vinyl Planter. I got this galvanized planter at Dollar Tree and opted to use some permanent vinyl on it in a flowery phrase to really set it off. This is a simple vinyl cutting project and Dollar Tree Craft so let’s get started.

Step 1: Download the SVG

Click on the Life in Bloom link and download the SVG onto your computer.

Step 2: Upload the SVG

Upload the SVG into to Design Space by clicking on the upload button on the left canvas menu. From there click upload image and browse your computer to find the Bloom SVG. Click on it and click continue. Then click upload. it will be added to your Design Space library. Once it is in your library. highlight it and click add to canvas at the bottom right corner. Resize it if you like

Step 3: Resize the SVG

Resize the SVG by pushing or pulling on one of the corners. For my project I made my SVG 3.5″ H x 4″ W. If you would like to put the SVG on another item, make sure to size it to fit that item.

Step 4: Make It

Click Make It at the top right corner of the canvas. If you have a Cricut Maker 3 you can use smart materials for this project otherwise click the On Mat option. Select your material by clicking browse more and selecting permanent vinyl. Place the permanent vinyl shiny side up on the mat. Cut out the vinyl following the instructions on design Space.

Step 5: Weed the Design

Weed your design using your weeding tool. Remember to weed the negative bits so that the design is remaining.

Step 6: Remove your Design

Place a piece of transfer tape on your the peach part of your design and place it on the planter. Repeat the steps for the green part of the design. Make sure to line the pieces up. You have now finished your Dollar Tree permanent vinyl planter using Cricut.
