How to Make a Tri-Fold Valentine’s Card using Cricut
It is almost Valentin’e day and I wanted to share with you a simple Tri-Fold Valentine’s Card using Cricut. This is a super simple beginner Cricut crafting project that only requires some cardstock and a cutting machine like Cricut. This project comes with a free SVG so all you have to do is cut it out, fold it and send. I added an envelope to go with it as well. If you would like more paper crafting projects check out these.
What you will Need: How to Make a Trip-Fold Valentine’s Card using Cricut
- Free SVG you can get by clicking on this link
- Medium weight cardstock — I use 12 x 12 cardstock shop products
- Scoring wheel or scoring stylus
- Cricut or other cutting machine
- Blue Cricut mat
Step 1: Download and Upload the SVG
First you will have to download the SVG to your computer and then upload it to Design Space. If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, check out this video. Once it is in Design Space resize it to 9″ w x 5″ H.
Step 2: Convert the Score Lines
Highlight the dotted lines using the left layers panel. Go to the top operations menu and choose score from the dropdown. Highlight both the dotted lines and the card and click attach at the bottom of the layers panel.
Step 3: Make It
Go to the top of Design Space and choose Make. Once Design Space goes to the next screen choose on mat. Then choose medium weight cardstock and follow the directions for cutting out the file.
Step 4: Place the Cardstock on the Blue Mat
Using the blue mat place the cardstock as usual. When prompted load the cardstock into your machine.
Step 5: Attach the Scoring Wheel or Stylus
Before cutting attach the scoring wheel or stylus to your machine. The first thing the program will do is to score the fold lines.
Step 6: Attach the Cutting Blade
Attach the cutting blade and cut out the card.
Step 7: Fold the Card
Write your sentiment on the inside. Fold the card on the score lines and insert into an envelope and send. I have included an envelope SVG with this project. If you want to create it follow the instructions in this post.
