How to Make a Split Monogram in Cricut Design Space

Divided monograms and divided words are so fun. They make perfect wall art, T-shirts, mugs, cellphone cases just about anything. Make them multi layered to give them interest.

I am going to show you the basics of making a divided monogram or a divided word in seconds using Cricut Design Space. The hardest part of this project is picking out the font.

MATERIALS NEEDED

– Cricut Design Space – Cricut – Cricut Materials

STEP 1

Open Design Space Canvas Open a blank canvas in design space by clicking canvas in the drop down menu on the top left of design space.

STEP 2

Choose a Font Click the text T on the left menu bar. Go to the top menu bar where it says font and choose a font for your monogram or word.

STEP 3

Choose a Word or Monogram Choose the letter or word you want to divide. Scale it to the size that you want by pulling one of the corners.

STEP 4

Select a Rectangle Go to the shapes icon and select the rectangle. Unlock the size dimensions on the top menu bar and resize. Center it on the letter or word.

STEP 5

Create the Split Select both the letter or word and the rectangle and draw a box around them. On the bottom right menu bar and see the combine dropdown menu and select subtract.
